Our first Sumo Tournament. So much fun. Dozen of huge guys. Lots of traditional Japanese showmanship. Thousands of screaming fans.
We didn’t get to sit on the lower circle but our seats were cool. We got a little 6ft x 6ft square for the 4 of us to sit in. It’s like a mini-picnic. I was totally sick with the flu but had a great time!!

Golden Week in Hakone

We spend the opening weekend of Golden Week in Hakone with some friends. A relaxing hotel with our own onsen (hot tub), some delicious japanese steak and some strolls through some beautiful nature preserves.
Fuji-Q-Highlands!!

The home of the BEST rollercoaster in Japan this place is pretty low-rent but the coasters obviously rock. We rode the Fujiyama (which was only an 1+ hour wait) and it was amazing. Probably the best old school, wooden style coaster i’ve ever been on. Loops, twists and dips that will make your heart jump. Their is even a height limit because you get that close to the beams!!!
