New Years Eve

Monday, December 31st, 2007

We spent the night at the Yarennoka New Years Eve 2007 finale at Saitama Arena. It was the Mixed Martial Arts Championship… lots of fighting, screaming and whatnot. All good except our two favorite fighters lost. Oh well.. their’s always 2008!!

Our fighter Akiyama came out strong but got hit with a lucky punch and then took it with a knockdown kick to the face – nasty!

Choi Hong Man, the crazy super big fighter from Korea! He has no basic fighting skills and ended up losing to the Pride champion from Russia. So Sad…

Last meal on New Years Eve. So delicious….

JiYoung and I invited some more of the Nike crew over for our “progressive” home party. People showed up throughout the night for delicious Korean BBQ and Mac-co-lee. It was a great time with some good laughs. Happy Holidays!!

WWF Anti-Paint Dumping Ads

Tuesday, December 18th, 2007

A single tin of paint can pollute millions of litres of water.

I love these. Not sure who’s working on them or where they come from, but they are very good. For some more, see here.

Test Day in Tokyo

Wednesday, December 5th, 2007

JiYoung headed to Tokyo University on this beautiful fall day to take her Level 3 Japanese test (that’s a big deal – it typically takes foreigners 2 years to reach this level – she did it in 6 months). The test is about 4 hours long and difficult i would imagine. It’s a national test day so it was packed with people from all over the world, speaking a plethora of languages to each other. So cool!! I’m so proud of her!! See all the pics of campus here.

Leopard Icon Mania!!

Wednesday, December 5th, 2007

I just upgraded to Mac Leopard and it’s pretty cool… but scary enough, the best day was when they upgraded Candy Bar from Panic which is an application that allows you to change and modify your icons, tools bars, etc. For the creative director in all of us. Well after hours of thought and meticulousness, my MacBook is totally upgraded – and almost unusable to those who don’t follow my thought pattern. Check it out…
