CHOO-SUK!!

Korean Thanksgiving, the bigget holiday here in Korea and a big family get-together. So it was time. I’ve met the parents, the brother and now it’s time to expand the circle. The Grandparents! Who knows how it’ll go with some super traditional old folk. The morning started of well with a relatively traffic-free drive and we arrived at their humble abode in Chung-Joo. An actual house – it was great. A front “yard” (cement) complete with two dogs and a garden. It reminded me of some of my famalies homes in Taiwan. So I met them and proceded with the bowing ceremony. We ate a BIG meal with a number of relatives with somelight chatter. I knew I could be in trouble when the grandfather didn’t know what Nike was! All in all, it was a great trip and the more I learn about JiYoung’s family the happier I get. Thet are great and pretty damn funny. We flipped through some great old pics of her parents and grandparents all over asia. Vintage at its best i tell you. The only downside was the 8 HOUR DRIVE HOME. Korea, notoriously known for bad traffic is expodential on this holiday. Ugh. It was a loooonnnggg 100k.
