Thursday night at the Tribeca Film Festival and it was a great time. Feeling a little under the weather and rushed to get out of the office, but the film was Monita and it was fantastic. A documentary style story of the lives to two brother’s in Washington Heights – specifically the 24 hours leading up to a major life changing event. Congrats to Corelle and his cousin who stars as the mistriss!!

Yo Yo Ma

08.05.2002

My first visit to Canegie Hall and it was pretty impressive. Saw Yo-Yo Ma’s Silk Road Ensemble and though I’m not a huge fan of world music, you have to respect the skills. These guys were bangin’ big time! He didn’t play any of his traditional stuff which was a bummer, but the eclectic collection of sounds he put together was amazing.

Dead Tired

06.05.2002

… but a fulfilling weekend. Habitat for Humanity on Saturday at 7am – worked on a set of row houses in Stuvesant. Chilled in the Washington Square with Mary and soaked up some rays and caught a good comedic show – Moonworks. It’s this intersting project where the put on comedy shows during the year to raise money to fund their big Shakespeare Shows. Anyway – the highlight by far were the hysterical sounds of Bayne Gibby – an odd girl that sings the most hilarious lyrics. Please check here out!! Then again today at 9am, the Dog Walk for Cancer. Brenda, Mochas, me and hundred of other dogs and people walking around with poop!!

True Friends

Thought for the Day from my friend Firedog: A good friend will come bail you out of jail, but a true friend will be sitting next to you, saying “that was fucking awesome”.
