Memorial Day Americana. Sitting on the sidewalk of slightly above middle america, I got to watch the Memorial Day Parade march down the streets of downtown Pittsford. Complete with verterans, flag girls, marching band, firetrucks and chris and jesse marching with the cub scouts and daisy’s. A beautiful holiday topped with some quality BBQ and basketball with my favorite niece. An ink drop in a bowl of milk, it was indeed a pleasure experiencing life in small town America. Happy Memorial Day and be proud.

Hope you’re Memorial Day Weekend is well. I’m in Rochester, NY now with some family and having a great time. Jess and Chris are a hoot – and Brody the dog rocks! Little BBQ (which you know I Love) and a trip to the magnficant Niagra Falls which is far more cooler as an adult than what I remember as child – check for yourself – Live CAM! Big parade with the kids tomorrow so I’m off!

Happy first day of Summer. Life in the concrete jungle will definitely be interesting this season. I’m off to ROCHESTER to see some family. Happy Memorial Day Weekend!!

Who’s the best? That’s right – Amy C. from Pepsi… why? For sending my a 6 foot Brittany Spears “Take Home the Tickets” standing cutout. It fits perfectly in the corner of my office. THANKS!

What Time is It? What’s the Date?

I read about these guys a while ago and recently checked up on them and to my surprise, they were still around – Zoom Culture – they produce videos for tv and the internet, but the difference is that they take the cameras “out of hollywood” and put them into the hands of youth producers. The result some real, hard-core videos from the POV of real kids. Reality television in it’s rawest form. They’re moving on to other things (assumably to stay afloat) – but check them out and watch Hip Hop Nation.

Always remember that at the end of the day – doing what you love counts for a lot. Had a pleasant visit from a friend today who while going through law school, is continuing to work on some amazing illustrations – one of my favorites – and looking to write her own childrens book. Not that law school is not a noble effort by far, but moonlighting projects that are your passion are what inspire and motivate you. And I guess in the wake of the dotcom burst, and wasted dreams of IPO riches, passion is what will carry us to greatness.

FORGOT! Thank you for all the happy wishes on my birthday on monday. The range of unique and oversized gifts was well appreciated. My day culminated with an intimate dinner of 10 at Sushi Samba, complete with homemade birthday cake (thanks lauren!) topped with far too many flaming candles. Thanks to Brenda and Nolan for organizing all!!

A mentally exhausting day at the office due to a lack of sleep and a little too much Benadryl – but if you’re looking for just click on stuff to stay awake, check out FLOW – an interactive neurotica music clip. (courtesy of MP). Enjoy!

The end of classic saturday – the beautiful day in the tri-state area started with a round of golf at Byne – where i managed to flop my way to a horrendous 16 over par. When you’re hitting poorly off the tee and putting like a blind man, you can’t expect much more – but as always, it was nice to get out. Then some fine mexican food outdoors at the Rose in lovely montclair. Wrapped up with a quick flick – Spider Man – and some late night jazz at the Vintage Cafe. The world just needs more days like these – or maybe it’s just me :).
